Something new? Why yes! Let's!
If you know me in real life, you'll know that I'm a bit of a music freak. My family is highly musical and my eclectic taste definitely branches from my parents exposing me to music at a very age. Keeping things short and non-biographical, I love music. Which is why I thought that starting to post music or artist that I'm into was a seriously good idea. Trust me, I've got great taste (smile).
Without further ado, check out my MotM (Music of the Moment) beneath the cut!
First artist that I wanted to discuss is someone that I really wouldn't have had the chance to experience had it not been for one of my besties and of course, YouTube! His name is Jonathan McReynolds and when I say that this brotha is speakin' TRUTH on his album, Life Music, I mean it!
You can read his bio here! His voice is amazing with a smooth, neo-soulish appeal to it. Think India Arie, Kim Burrell and Musiq Soulchild's music baby. But one thing that I'm incredibly into with this guy is how "souled" out he is for the message of Christ. With songs like "Lovin' Me" and "No Gray", Jonathan sings of an unconditional, Godly love while letting us know what God expects back from us. I love how his music speaks to Follower's heart, urging us away from "religion" and towards "relationship" and in a world of gray, it's wonderful to see a young man stand up for righteousness in his lyrics.
